Honoring John Pugh

for his craftsmanship in producing

our new Communion Table

Many Thanks to John Pugh!!

Many thanks to John Pugh for the generous and work he has done to beautify and enhance worship in our Main Sanctuary!!

John recently designed and installed the railings on both sides of the steps at the front of our sanctuary. They are attractive additions, matching the other furnishings, and add safety as members use the steps in our sanctuary.

In January of 2013,  John redesigned our old communion table.  Although it would have been much easier for him to build one "from scratch," he used his skill to shorten the original table on both sides, install wheels so that it can moved easily, and build shelves into the back that will hold worship supplies.  John trimmed the light oak body of the table with dark walnut to  match the pulpit and the stair railings.  John's work on the  table was a labor of love that took over 60 hours to complete!

As a finishing touch, John installed casters at the base of our baptismal font.  The font now can be moved safely and conveniently by one person across the tile floor at the front of our sanctuary.

We are very thankful for  the generosity, skill and faith of John Pugh that he has used to craft furnishings that will enhance our worship for years to come!

Special Thanks to our Volunteers

Thank you to everyone who has donated their time, talents and supplies! Take time next Sunday to see the beautiful improvements that have been made in the Choir Room,

Halls and Baths. What an amazing difference a little paint and hard work have made!

              Message from The Church Mouse

The Church Mouse

Well, I know it must be Spring because your oak trees have beautiful green leaves. I peeked out and saw John Kaiser's men trimming trees for their Spring gift to Bee Ridge.

It was also good to see a bunch of your church humans pulling weeds, cleaning inside and out and scrubbing the Little White Church on your church work day on a recent Saturday. It is good to spruce up the visible spaces but it is also important to brighten and prepare inside hearts for Easter time. I am sure that your usual hopeful and happy celebration of Christ's resurrection will take place right on time. Christ's promise of New Life will be shared here on that special Sunday!

I think the choir was getting ready for beautiful Easter music when they sang that awesome song "On Holy Ground" recently. Another set of goose bumps for this church mouse!! What a blessing those beautiful voices brought that day.

I did manage to sneak over to Keys Hall for the March PW Gathering...! "gathered" yummy crumbs there and also had a treat to hear Chaplain Tim from the Anchor House Mission at Port Manatee. His group ministers to seafarers who dock there as they deliver goods from ports all over the world. I saw first hand that your church people brought all kinds of personal care items for the sailors to have when they come into port. Seems all you have to do here at Bee Ridge is ask for donations and they come pouring in. Tim took 3 BIG bags of various toiletries, etc. back to be handed out when needed. Friends at Pine Shores donated knitted caps and a local dentist gave toothbrushes and tooth paste...The ladies and I learned a lot about shipping and about the men on those ships. I wondered, but didn't get to find out, if maybe I had a mouse cousin on some of those ships. That would really be an exciting, but maybe lonely life. I would love to hear some of their stories! Their mouse "tales" would make my life here seem dull, I'm sure. Now and then I do get the urge to travel and have some adventures, but then I always feel that my life here is just where I'm supposed to be. It is good when God gives us that assurance that we have a purpose even when we aren't sure of it.

An Easter verse of promise and hope for us:

John 11 verses 25 & 26

"I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he     live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.   Do you believe this?"

WE STILL NEED your help

In an effort to keep our campus picked up, pruned, repaired, and in general in first class condition, BRPC is planning to organize a Buildings & Grounds Committee. We're looking for a person to lead the committee. Someone who can organize church members to help with weeding, raking leaves, replacing burned out lights, painting, and doing minor repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS - Organized, basic understanding of repairs/painting/yard maintenance, willing to oversee and at times assist volunteers as they complete various tasks, work within a budget. Please contact Elder Bruce Livingston if you are interested.
